Selanik: The Sultan’s Rose

 Selanik: The Sultan’s Rose

Once there was a Sultan who dreamed of a rose just before conquering a city. History and legends, emblematic monuments, some of which, nowadays, completely forgotten, some others just neglected and others almost unknown, a movement that changed the course of the entire empire, Count Dracula, a poet whose life was deeply connected to Thessaloniki, a famous writer found himself in the city and taken by it, preserving precious memories forever, and the three burials of a pasha.

We spot the traces of the Ottoman presence in the city and try to bring to light incidents that tend to slip our memory.

The important events and the numerous human stories behind them set the tone for a unique tour, with unexpected stops and a totally innovative approach to a connection with the city beyond the established ones.
